In Yemen, figures from the newly released Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report show a disturbing trend of more people at threat of famine. Most worryingly, around 31,000 people are experiencing extreme levels of hunger, with the risk of famine-like conditions if action is not immediately taken.
In Syria, Residents of IDP camps in north Syria face challenging living conditions, in the absence of minimum resources and services, including water, electricity, sanitation and housing, according to the SRCG. Families are significantly reducing the amount of food they eat and most depend entirely on humanitarian assistance.
In Palestine, Al-Aqsa storming obliged Jerusalemites to leave their business and income sources to defend Masjid Al-Aqsa which caused them great losses in their livelihoods. The worsening economic situation, both due to the poor economy and occupation conditions, creates inflation and high prices that Palestinian families cannot face.
In Lebanon, the Russian war has affected the economy side worldwide by the high price for everything.
The Syrian refugees and host communities in Arsal and the Beqaa are considered the most affected by the economic situation.
Also, the effect of Coronavirus led many of the refugees to lose their jobs.
“Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor having a hard time.” [Quraan:22-28].
Everyone deserves to enjoy Eid and feed their families just like we do.
For many, this is the only time they will be able to eat meat in the entire year.
